That's not fighting a monster efficiently, nor does it feel rewarding.Įxactly. IMO, barbarian should've kept the damage increase, but perhaps lose out on some stun? You won't ever learn proper block timings using that mutation. But in a gameplay stance, I don't like that it rewards and encourages unskilled gameplay. A barbarian who rushes into combat and sloppily takes hits as they beat their enemy into the ground. "Just switch weapons" is also strange- because we're not talking about maces in itself being weak, we're talking about the mutation compared to other weapon's mutations.īut to be fair, flavor wise. Perfect block takes time to learn for each enemy and skill to do without the mutations for it. "Perfect block crutch" That actually made me laugh. "Just tank the hit" ? and as you've said, waste healing and chug smoothies to heal through bosses? That's not fighting a monster efficiently, nor does it feel rewarding. I really can't believe some of the things people in the replies are saying in here. I shouldn't be punished for learning enemy patterns and timing when to perfect block, that's just silly. I saw it no longer let you perfect block and switched off it. But for mid game Barbarian is kind of trash ngl.Įdit: I forgot antlion greatsword doesn't get club bonuses Now one thing I will say in your favor is that this effect isn't always active, so you can always start the fight with a perfect block then go ham.

Also there comes the question of having your armor break quicker because you can't perfect block. Because unless you just tear through wolfies and the boss in 3 seconds and 15 seconds respectively. And is arguably better to go without until you get spicy damage and level 6 on your Antlion sword or broodmother club.

However, since you cannot perfect block with it there comes an issue with wolf spiders and the broodmother, because you'll get poisoned. Clubs are amazing and the mutation did not need to increase damage with no drawback.
