Live Art UK is facilitated by LADA, with significant input from members. The event is known for its tableaux vivants or 'living pictures' in which classical and contemporary works of art are recreated by real people who are made to look nearly identical to the originals through the clever application of costumes, makeup, headdresses, lighting, props, and backdrops. In past years, the festival has attracted more than 20,000 attendees. The spring festival takes place at Memorial Park, and the fall festival happens in downtown Houston. Our core membership meets formally twice a year, and informally at one another’s events, while our monthly newsletter goes to an extensive list of industry members, press, HE, and sector advocates. The biannual Bayou City Art Festival is Houston’s lively celebration of art and artists, gatherings that invite around 300 artists working in myriad media to share their work.

Live Art UK is a national network of venues, festivals and facilitators who collectively represent a range of practices and are concerned with all aspects of the development of the Live Art sector across the UK.
